My name is Marsha B., and I am an award-winning journalist, content creator, reiki practitioner, and future astrologer.

I am an introvert who extroverts for pay. By day, I am the Senior Beauty and Fashion Editor for HelloBeautiful. When I'm not telling Black stories, conducting celebrity interviews, hosting events, and speaking on panels, I advocate for mental health through various platforms.

My social anxiety led me to create Introvert N the City. My career puts me in the room with interesting people, and fear crippled me from connecting with them. I decided to build a platform that was inclusive to people who wanted to manage their anxiety, work on positive self-talk, understand their power, and pivot to create the life they want to live.

In 2020, I went through a jarring "what am I doing with my life" period. I needed to be more inspired work-wise, and as a creative, I began to resent the corporate environment. I needed to motivate myself to figure out my bigger picture. I decided to create the Mindful Moon Deck as a way to be gentle with myself through my self-discovery journey.

Each card represents a phrase I said to myself to keep myself motivated, but the cards also caused me to look at life through a very realistic lens. On the days I felt like giving up, "You have no idea who's watching. Keep Going." For the days when I forget my power, "Everything I want to become, I already am." And for the days where I let fear take over, "Imagine where you'd be if you accepted the challenges you try to avoid." Since then, I launched the Love Notes Deck, a 50-card deck for people in relationships. And in 2023, I launched the Moon Child Deck, a 35-card affirmation deck for kids 4-14. In addition, I translated the Mindful Moon Deck into Spanish.

Over the last ten years, I've blogged, curated events, and written for significant publications. While most of my published writing focuses on beauty and fashion, my passion is to concentrate on underserved communities. My work has been published in Huffington Post, Blavity, MadameNoire, HelloBeautiful, Fashion Bomb Daily, Naturally Curly, Kontrol Magazine, Pynk Magazine, Everything Girls Love, and more.

The Introvert N the City platform was created to lend a voice to women of color searching for their awkward sister tribe.

I am a quirky Brooklyn gal, who loves to create and inspire. Welcome to your new tribe!
